DUE WEST, S.C. – The Erskine College men's soccer team took on Lees-McRae College in a non-conference matchup to begin the 2025 season on Saturday evening, as the Fleet officially unveiled brand new Ralph Lundy Field, the new home for Erskine Soccer. The game was abandoned in the 51st minute of the second half with Erskine trailing 1-0.
The visitors found a breakthrough on a counter attack in the 24th minute, but the Fleet controlled possession after the goal and were outshooting the Bobcats, 7 to 6, at the time of the initial delay due to lightning. However, inclement weather continued over the next several hours in the Due West area, forcing the match to be abandoned.Â
Erskine and Lees-McRae will look to resume the match at a later date this season
