HOW IT HAPPENED
Shorter created most of the chances in the first half, but three saves in the opening period of
Luca Barwalde kept the game scoreless until the Fleet's attacking play could come alive in the second half. After just one shot in the first 45 minutes, the Fleet matched Shorter's total of eight shots in the second half, with
Connor Blake,
Joe Roberts, and
Evan Williams all registering shots on target in the Fleet's search of a winning goal. Barwalde made three more saves in net in the second half for the Fleet, helping Erskine earn its first conference point of the season.
THE TEAM
Erskine was outshot by Shorter 14 to 9, and the Hawks had a 6 to 3 advantage in shots on target, with the edge for the visitors coming entirely in the first half. Shorter committed 10 fouls to Erskine's 7 in the match, and both teams had player shown a yellow card in second half.
WHAT'S NEXT?
Erskine goes on the road to take on Southern Wesleyan University (7-5-1, 4-3-1 CC) on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
