HOW IT HAPPENED
In the final home match of the regular season for the Fleet, an early goal from the visitors put them behind, as Converse opened the scoring in the fourth minute. That 1-0 scoreline remained past the halfway point of the opening half until the Valkyries doubled their lead in the 28th minute. The Fleet recorded six shots in the opening half but none were on target, and a seven-minute stretch that spanned across halftime saw Converse add three more goals to seal the game.
THE TEAM
Erskine was outshot by Converse 25 to 11, and the Valkyries had a 12 to 2 advantage in shots on target. Both teams totaled four corner kicks in the match and Converse committed one more foul than the Fleet.
WHAT'S NEXT?
Erskine closes the regular season at Emmanuel University (6-7-1, 6-5-0 CC) on Saturday at 4 p.m.
