HOW IT HAPPENED
A goal in the 24th minute by the Lions opened the scoring and forced the Fleet to play from behind for most of the afternoon. Erskine struggled to get into the game in the opening half, but
Luca Barwalde made four saves to keep the Fleet within a goal at the break.
Marc Navarro took over in between the sticks in the second half and continued the solid work that held Emmanuel off the scoreboard. Erskine's attacking players grew into the match as the day went on and the Fleet tallied four shots in the second half, including a 57th-minute strike from
Jahdai Prince that was cleared off the line by an Emmanuel defender. However, despite Erskine's best efforts to find an equalizer, the Fleet ran out of time and lost 1-0 in their season finale.
THE TEAM
Erskine was outshot by Emmanuel 13 to 5, and the Lions had a 6 to 2 advantage in shots on target.
WHAT'S NEXT?
Following Saturday's result, Erskine did not qualify for the 2026 Conference Carolinas Tournament, so the Fleet will head into the off-season and begin preparations for 2027.
