Fleet Faithful,

Merry Christmas from Due West! All is quiet in the metropolis as we take a break to celebrate the birth of our Savior. We also get a nice respite from a busy fall before beginning the spring semester in January.

 We had quite a fall! It all started in August with a record-breaking 650 student-athletes on campus. We experienced the first football tailgate in October during Homecoming. In my office is an awesome panoramic picture under the lights of that historic night. We also had an opportunity once each month to experience Fleet Fellowship with our student-athletes. Much thanks to Josh Chiles, Dalton Coker, and Andy Rousey for sharing with us this semester during the inaugural Fleet Fellowship.

Our men's golf team captured a second straight NCCAA national golf title while junior Anna Parramore won the NCCAA individual national title in women's golf.  The achievements didn't stop there as we saw unprecedented success in Conference Carolinas play. The Hawn Cup rates each Conference Carolinas school in relation to finish in the standings to each sport. On the heels of runner-up finishes in women's cross country and men's soccer, Erskine completed the fall season in 5th place in the Hawn Cup standings. It is the highest ranking ever for the Fleet after the fall. In 2013 we recorded a best-ever fifth place finish in the Hawn Cup for the entire year but we were 8th after the fall. The momentum is rolling downhill as we look with anticipation to the winter and spring sports coming in 2020.

We are 257 days from the first football kick-off on September 5th so it is not too early to begin supporting the Fleet football program. Consider becoming a Dode Phillips Booster Club member today!
