DUE WEST, S.C. – The Erskine College women's soccer team (3-10-2, 2-10-1 CC) was defeated by Belmont Abbey College (13-4-1, 11-1-1 CC) by a score of 4-0 at Ralph Lundy Field on Friday afternoon in the Fleet's final game of the 2025 season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
A quick turnaround from Wednesday's makeup game, the Fleet took another premier opponent in Conference Carolinas in their regular season finale. Although, Belmont Abbey opened the scoring in the 11th minute, Erskine defended well throughout the first half and goalkeeper Valentina Santana made five saves to keep the Fleet within a goal at the break. However, Erskine was forced into more defending in the second half and the Crusaders doubled their lead in the early stages of the second period before adding their final two goals in the closing minutes of the match.

"We were still run down from a solid performance just two days ago. We put in a good shift in the first half managing their aggressive offense. Unfortunately, our lack of offensive threat led to continuous pressure in front of our net that we were unable to keep at bay. We are proud of the effort the team has given this season and are encouraged moving forward!"

WHAT'S NEXT?
Following Friday's action, Erskine's 2025 season came to an end as the Fleet will not qualify for the upcoming Conference Carolinas Tournament. Erskine will turn its attention to the off-season and begin preparations for 2026.
