Erskine loses to Limestone 3-0; travels to Barton on Monday

Box Score Gaffney, S.C. – Playing in wet wintery conditions, the Erskine Flying Fleet lost 3 to 0 to #9 Limestone College Saints to conclude their regular season this afternoon in Conference Carolinas men's soccer action at Saints Field.

It appeared the Fleet would escape the period trailing just by one but the Saints caught a lucky bounce to tack on their second goal.  The pass from Saint's Thomas Keen was deflected landing at the feet of Gui Machado who shot the ball into the bottom right corner of the goal.

In the second half, the Saints added a third goal off the head of William Picoux.

In all Limestone outshot Erskine 19 to 8 in the game.  Erskine goalkeeper Nicholas Willenborg recorded 8 saves.

The Flying Fleet earned the #6 seed in the upcoming conference tournament that starts Monday.  The Fleet will travel to Wilson, North Carolina, to play the Bulldogs of Barton College.  Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
