Box Score Florence, S.C. – The Erskine Flying Fleet (5-4-1) shocked the Patriots of Francis Marion University (6-2-2) 3 to 1 tonight in non-conference men's soccer action at Hartzler Field.
The Flying Fleet, who have only won one of their last five games, got two goals from sophomore
Martin Maschio, Jr. (Palm Coast, FL, Flagler Palm Coast High School) and another goal from junior
Ross Henderson (Lincoln, England, William Farr C of E) in tonight's win.
In the first half, Henderson staked the Fleet to a 1-0 lead with a goal in the 20
th minute. After a foul on FMU, Henderson blasted a shot off a free kick from just outside the box to put Erskine up 1 to 0.
In the next half, Maschio put the game out of reach with his first goal in the 50
th minute followed by his second goal of the game two minutes later. Maschio tallied his first goal, second of the season, on a header off of teammate's
Ugo Galtier (Corenc, France, Lycee de la Venise Vente) centering pass. Two minutes later, senior
Andrew Settlemire (Beaufort, SC, Beaufort High School) centered a pass that Maschio handled on the left side of the box and shot into the right side of the goal.
FMU avoided the shutout with a goal in the 86
th minute. Shahin Hemat accepted a pass on the right side ten yards out from teammate Ryan Kolenda and fired it into the goal.

Fiore Costa (Niagara Falls, Ontario, St. Paul Catholic Secondary School) recorded four saves while allowing the lone goal.
Erskine returns to conference play this weekend when they host the Crusaders of Belmont Abbey College. Kick-off is set for 4:30 p.m.
