Box Score Misenheimer, N.C. – The Pfeiffer University Falcons (6-3, 4-1) tallied the game's lone goal in the sixth minute of overtime to down the Erskine Flying Fleet (4-4-1, 2-1-1) 1 to 0 this afternoon in Conference Carolinas men's soccer action at NE Lefko Field.
It was not until overtime that the Falcons could break through the Flying Fleet back line. Pfeiffer's Nathan Regis passed the ball through the line into the left-side of the box. Teammate Roberto Soares corralled the ball and shot the ball just inside the far right post.
Prior to that goal, Pfeiffer seriously threatened to score just once in regulation. Pfeiffer managed just eleven shots and placed just one shot on goal that Erskine goalkeeper Fiore Costa handled for his lone save. That one shot came in fifth minute of the game off a Pfeiffer corner kick.
Erskine also had difficulty placing their shots on goal. The Fleet launched 16 shots placing 5 on target but Pfeiffer goalkeeper Nicolas Dulac handled each attempt to earn the shutout victory.
Erskine will step out of conference to play at Francis Marion University this Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
