Box Score Due West S.C. - The Erskine Flying Fleet (8-6-2) defeated the Lions of Emmanuel College (5-8-2) 1 to 0 in their last home game for the regular season.
Before kick off the seniors were honored and it seemed like the starting eleven players wanted to make the day special for these six seniors.
The first minutes the Fleet was all over Lions, playing brilliant soccer on a fresh and newly cut grass at Huggins field. After missing on several quality scoring opportunities, the Fleet broke through in the 20
th minute. Erskine's
Josh Heafield (Barnstaple, England, PETROC College) passed the ball to teammate
Luke Boyce (Bungay, Suffolk, Bungay High), who cut inside the defender and smashed the ball in the right corner from 20 yards out.
After the goal Erskine kept on dominating and firing shots at the Lions goalkeeper Sebastian Jones, who played a good game in goal for the Lions and recorded 10 saves. The only chance the Lions had in the first half was a big one, but an impressive save by Erskine's goalkeeper
Nicholas Willenborg (Niceville, FL, Niceville High School) kept the score 1-0 at halftime.
In the second half the game got more open and it produced chances in both ends of the field. Erskine played brilliant defense, highlighted by junior defender
Ross Henderson (Lincoln, England, William Farr C of E) knocking down two Lion shots with eight minutes to play.

Despite outshooting the Lions 21 to 10, the early goal by the Fleet stood up to be the game-wnner.
