Box Score Bristol, Tenn. – In an evenly contested game, the Erskine Flying Fleet (7-6-2, 3-3-2) suffered a 1-0 loss to the King University Tornado (7-7, 5-3) this afternoon in Conference Carolinas men's soccer action at Parks Field.
After a scoreless first period, King's Chris Hicks knocked home a loose ball in the 65
th minute from in front of the Fleet net for the game's lone goal.
The Fleet pushed forward in the waning minutes, producing six shots, but could not find the back of the net.
Erskine held a slight advantage in shots at 16 to 13, but both teams had difficulty putting the ball on target. Erskine managed to locate just two shots on goal while King placed four shots on goal.
Erskine returns home to Huggins Field on Tuesday night to face the Lions of Emmanuel College. Kick-off is set for 7:30 p.m. Prior to the game, Erskine will recognize their senior soccer members.
