Due West, S.C. – #1 Erskine hosts #8 Mt. Olive College tomorrow evening in the Quarterfinals of the Conference Carolinas Men's Soccer Tournament. Kick-off is set for 7:00 p.m.
The Fleet earned the #1 seed with their win over Limestone College on Saturday. Both Erskine and Limestone finished the season 7-1 in the conference with Erskine holding the tie-breaker with the head-to-head victory.
After opening their season 1-3-1, Erskine (11-5-1) went 10-2, winning six in a row at one point.
Andrew Settlemire (Beaufort, SC, Beaufort High School) led both the Fleet and the conference in scoring with 13 goals while contributing 3 assists. Senior goalkeeper
Roberto De La Vina (Oviedo, Spain, San Ignacio) had another stellar season leading the conference in total saves and saves percentage. He currently ranks in the Top 20 nationally in those two statistics.
#8 seed Mt. Olive College played their way into the tournament on Saturday. The Trojans defeated King University 3-2 in overtime to secure the final spot in the tournament. Bright Eto led the Trojans with four goals and two assists this season.
In their regular season matchup, Erskine defeated Mt. Olive College at home 4-1 back on October 19th.
The winner of tomorrow's game advances to play the winner between #4 Lees-McRae College and #5 Pfeiffer University. The higher seed hosts in each round.
In the other bracket, #2 Limestone hosts #7 King while #3 Barton hosts #6 Belmont Abbey.
