Tigerville, SC – The Erskine Men’s Soccer Team picked up their first road win of the year beating North Greenville University at Pepsi Stadium 3-0. With the victory, the Fleet now stand at 4-2 overall, 1-1 conference, while North Greenville drops to 3-3 on the season.
Sophomore Matt Sluga (Greer, SC, Riverside High School) scored the Fleet’s first goal on a pass from freshman Jonathan Rutter (Birmingham, England, Fairfax) in the 15th minute. Senior Andy Castano (Orlando, FL, Freedom High School) gave the Fleet an insurance goal scoring in the 35th minute. The Fleet added another goal in the second half when Jonathan Rutter scored on an assist by Andy Castano.
The Fleet outshot the Crusaders 10-7. Erskine goalkeeper Roberto De La Vina (Oviedo, Spain, Sam Igmacio) had two saves.
The Fleet return home this weekend for homecoming and face the Knights of St. Andrews Presbyterian College. Kick-off is set for 4:30 p.m.
