Hartsville, SC – The Flying Fleet recorded their second straight shutout defeating Coker College 1 to 0 in Conference Carolinas men’s soccer action.  With the victory, the Fleet move to 8-7 overall and 5-2 in conference.  The Cobras of Coker slip to 6-5-4 overall and 3-3-2 in conference.

Erskine’s Matt Sluga (Greer, SC, Riverside High School) scored the game’s lone goal early in the second half.  Sluga received a pass from junior Andy Castano (Orlando, FL, Freedom High School) and placed the ball in the lower right corner just past the Coker goalkeeper.  Sluga now leads Erskine in goals scored with 5, including 3 game-winning goals.

Erskine was outshot by Coker 13 to 6.  Erskine goalkeeper Roberto De La Vina (Oviedo, Spain, Sam Igmacio)finished with 5 saves.

The Fleet host Lees-McRae College this Tuesday with kick-off set for 7:00 p.m.
