Fleet lose to SWU 3-0

Central, SC – Erskine fell to Southern Wesleyan University 3 to 0 in non-conference men’s soccer action at Child’s Field.  The Fleet drop to 6-6 on the season while SWU improves to 4-6-1.

Southern Wesleyan University scored their first goal midway through the first half when #11 Emmanuel Forbes connected with #6 Carlos Gonzalez who blasted the shot passed the Erskine goalkeeper Roberto De La Vina (Oviedo, Spain, Sam Igmacio).  Southern Wesleyan University sealed the victory late in the second half scoring two goals within four minutes.  #9 Christian Sabillon scored his first goal of the season with 17 minutes remaining and #6 Gonzalez followed it up with his second goal of the evening, giving SWU the 3-0 victory.

Erskine struggled offensively, managing only 6 shots on the evening.

Erskine’s goalkeeper Roberto De La Vina finished the night with 6 saves on 14 shots.

The Fleet look to snap their three-game losing streak this weekend at home against the Crusaders of Belmont-Abbey College.  Kick-off is set for 4:30 p.m.
