Men's Soccer Fall to No.7 Bobcats

Banner Elk, NC- Erskine men’s soccer fell to nationally ranked Conference Carolinas opponent Lees-McRae Saturday afternoon 8-1.  Erskine’s lone goal came off the foot of freshman Lyle McDaniel late in the second half.  With the loss, Erskine falls to 0-4-1 on the season while the Bobcats (No.7) remain undefeated at 4-0. 

 

The Bobcats struck within the first two minutes of play and never looked back.  Lees-McRae’s Richard Guffins led the charge scoring the first goal of the match.  Jamie Price and David Palmer led the way for the Bobcats.  Price posted one goal and three assists while Palmer had two goals and one assist.  Guffins also posted one goal and two assists for the Bobcats. 

 

Other Bobcat scorers included Berin Boracic, Jarrett Fleharty, and Adam Burden.

 

Erskine’s McDaniel posted the only goal for the Fleet at the 88 minute mark.

 

Erskine will return to action this Wednesday as they travel to Clayton State University for a match scheduled for 7:00 PM.
