SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Erskine College men's and women's cross-country teams ran their first meet of the season on Friday, participating in the Eye Opener Invitational hosted by USC Upstate.

MEN'S REPORT
The Fleets' top finisher was
Jacob Koontz, who finished in 10th place with a time of 26:41.1 and an average mile time of 5:22.2. Koontz, a freshman, finished just under a minute and half after the race winner and over 1 minute sooner than his next closest teammates,
Hunter White and
Joshua Meadows.

WOMEN'S REPORT
Lizzie Naval led the charge for the Erskine women, finishing with a team-best 19:43.3 in 13th place.
Gracie Woods also finished within the top 20, registering a 19:48.7 time and 16th place. No Fleet Women's runners placed outside the top 3/5 of the competition field.
