Gracie Woods has been selected as the Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Month for women's cross country for September of 2021.
The freshman from Carnesville, Georgia has had an impressive start to her Flying Fleet career as she posted a pair of top-25 finishes and has improved her time each week. She opened with a 16th-place finish at the Eye Opener Invitational with a 5K time of 19:48.7 and capped the month with a 5K time of 18:56.0 at the Queen City Invitational. In her lone 6K race of the year, she placed 24th in the 208-runner field with a time of 23:36.3.
Woods will look to continue this success next weekend at the Royals Challenge in Charlotte, NC.
Each month, the conference office will select a freshman student-athlete who has excelled in competition. Each sport will have a student-athlete honored during their regular season of competition.
