Box Score Due West, S.C. – This afternoon's non-conference women's soccer game against St. Andrews University Knights (5-1-1) ended in a 3-0 loss for the Erskine Flying Fleet (1-4) at Huggins Field.
The Knights came out with a goal in the 12
th minute from Rebekah Webster as an Erskine defender missed a ball in the box to make the game 1-0. After that goal it seemed that Erskine could not find their way back into the game as the Fleet produced just one shot in the opening period.
Although the Flying Fleet took a couple more shots, the second half belonged to St. Andrews with them out shooting Erskine 11-5. The Knights' Olivia Thoroughman put away two more goals, one in the 48
th minute from about 35 yards out and the second off of a header four minutes later.

Ashton Burgess (Greenwood, SC, Emerald High School) did a terrific job in the first half, recording 9 saves on 15 shots. Burgess would end the game with 12 saves.
The Erskine Women's soccer team's next game will be a conference match up on Saturday September 27
th at 1 p.m. at University of Mount Olive.
