HOW IT HAPPENED
Fresh off a largely successful three-game home stand, the Fleet returned to the road for the first time in two weeks but struggled in the opening half. SWU controlled most of the period and goals from the hosts in the 15th and 39th minutes put Erskine in a 2-0 deficit at the break. However, the second half was much more evenly balanced with both sides tallying four shots. For the Fleet,
Alexa Harrison and
Rebekah Wiles each had shots on target but it wasn't until the 83rd minute when
Jordan Schuhlein scored her second goal of the season off a
Hannah DeVincent assist to give the Fleet a lifeline in the final minutes. However, Erskine was unable to find a second goal and was edged on the road in a rematch with the Warriors.
WHAT'S NEXT?
Erskine has its final home game of the regular season and Senior Day when Converse University (3-5-5, 3-4-3 CC) comes to town on Saturday at 1 p.m.
