Two late BAC goals down Erskine 2-0

Box Score Due West, S.C.- In this afternoon's Conference Carolinas match up the Erskine Flying Fleet (2-8, 1-5) came up short after a hard fought, well-balanced match-up with the Belmont Abbey Crusaders (5-5-2, 4-2).

The Fleet's defense held the Crusaders until late in the second half when Belmont Abbey's sophomore forward Cierra Skyers scored twice.  Skyers tallied her first goal off a centering pass from teammate Maggie Moore.  Skyers settled Moore's pass off her chest then fired the ball into the left corner of the goal beyond the reach of Erskine goalkeeper Ashton Burgess.

With minutes dwindling, Skyer added the Crusader's insurance goal by beating Burgess in a race for a ball in the box.  After beating Burgess, Skyers shot the ball from the left side into the open goal.

Despite surrendering the two goals, Burgess played well in goal recording 10 saves on 19 shots.

The Fleet's next match up is Monday, October 13th against Mars Hill on Huggins Field at 7 p.m.
