Box Score Belmont, N.C. – The Erskine Women's Soccer Team (1-6, 1-1) lost 2-0 to #5 regionally ranked Belmont Abbey College (6-1, 2-0) this afternoon at Alumni Field.

The Abbey dominated the flow of the game, blasting 30 shots at Erskine goalkeeper Ashton Burgess (Greenwood, SC, Emerald High School) who recorded 13 saves while yielding just the two goals.  It marks the fifth consecutive game that Burgess has earned double-digit saves.

Erskine surrendered an early goal (4^th minute) but tightened their defense to keep the Crusaders within a goal.  It was not until the final minutes of the game that the Abbey was able to add the insurance goal.

Erskine does not take to the pitch again until next Wednesday, October 2^nd when the Fleet travel to Mars Hill College.  Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
