Box Score Gaffney, SC – Limestone College scored on a penalty kick just 1:23 into the second overtime period to top the Flying Fleet of Erskine College 1-0 in Conference Carolinas women’s soccer action at Saints Field.
Leading up to the Saint’s golden goal, the Fleet held a slight advantage in shots at 15 to 10 with both teams missing on possible scoring opportunities. Erskine’s
Kimrey Angotti-Smith (Goose Creek, SC, Pinewood Prep School) had an opportunity to win the game late in the first overtime period but the Saint’s goalkeeper Tori Waddell made a nice save to turn back the Fleet.

Katie Lyle (Duluth, GA, Peachtree Ridge High School) had 7 saves on 11 shots while Tori Waddell had 5 saves on 15 shots.
The loss drops the Fleet (3-4-1, 3-1) into a 4-team tie, including Limestone, atop the conference standings.
Erskine travels to Misenheimer, North Carolina, this Saturday to play the Falcons of Pfeiffer University. Game time is set for 2:00 p.m.
