Newberry, SC – Erskine lost on the road to local in-state rival Newberry College 3-0 in non-conference women’s soccer action at Newberry Soccer Field.  With the loss, the Flying Fleet stumble to 6-9 on the while Newberry improves to 10-6 on the season.

Newberry scored two of their three goals in the first half with the first one coming in the third minute of the game.  Newberry’s Ashley Reetz ripped a shot from 20 yards and a few minutes later Erskine surrendered an “own goal” to put Newberry up 2-0.

In the second half, Newberry’s Brayden Miller scored her fourth goal of the season from in front of the goal on a double assist from Cassie Smith and Mary Stanton.

Erskine travels to Belmont-Abbey College this Saturday for their last regular season game.  Kick-off is set for 12:30 p.m.
