Colin Fahey and
Gino Briglio were named the Conference Carolinas Men's Volleyball Players of the Week, as the Fleet swept the league's two weekly awards for the week of January 11-18Â to begin the 2026 season.
Fahey, a junior from Orlando, Florida, was named Conference Carolinas Player of the Week as he helped lead Erskine to a pair of wins last week, hitting .594 over three matches. The middle blocker averaged 2.3 kills and 0.6 blocks per set in three matches. He hit .364 with six kills and one block in a sweep of Newberry before posting five kills and .833 attack percentage against Tusculum. Fahey closed the week with 12 kills, .667 attack percentage, along with five blocks, two solo in a 3-1 win over 19th-ranked Lincoln Memorial.
Briglio, a senior setter from Fort Lauderdale, Florida was named Conference Carolinas Specialist of the Week after averaging 9.7 assists and 1.8 digs per set in three matches. He started with 25 assists and four digs in a sweep of Newberry before adding 18 assists, four digs and two aces against Tusculum. Briglio finished the week with 44 assists, eight digs and three blocks in a 3-1 win over 19th-ranked Lincoln Memorial.
Fahey and Briglio become the first Erskine duo to sweep the Conference Carolinas Men's Volleyball weekly awards since Francisco Pomar and Kacper Rybarczyk back in the 2023 season.
Up next for the Fleet is back-to-back home games against the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (2-0), starting Thursday at 6 p.m. inside Belk Arena, before the teams will do it again on Friday evening as well.
