GREENVILLE, S.C. – David Hernandez was named the Conference Carolinas Baseball Player of the Week for the week of April 15-April 22, 2024.

A senior catcher from Miami, Florida, Hernandez had a big week, leading the Flying Fleet to a sweep of nationally ranked Barton. He posted seven hits in the series and nine hits on the week with a non-conference win over Augusta. For the week he hit .600 with six runs batted in, a pair of home runs and five runs scored. In games one and three against Barton he went 3-for-4, driving in one in game one and two in game three. He came up with the game-winning single in the bottom of the 10th inning of game to give Erskine the 10-9 win, and sweep.

Hernandez joins Dale Francis, Jr. as Fleet honorees for the weekly award in 2024. King's Corbin Dickenson took home the Pitcher of the Week award.

Erskine is back in action today on the road at Lincoln Memorial University at 4 p.m.
