DUE WEST, S.C. – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) announced the 2024 Division II Preseason All-Region and All-America teams and Erskine's
Dale Francis, Jr. earned a spot on both teams.
Francis, Jr., the reigning Conference Carolinas Player of the Year, was named to the Preseason All-American Third Team as well as the first baseman on the All-Southeast Region Team.
A native of Fort Pierce, Florida, Francis, Jr. led Conference Carolinas in average (.521), on-base percentage (.600) and hits (50) in league contests. He was also third in the conference in RBIs with 34 and home runs with 10.
Francis, Jr. was joined by eight other Conference Carolinas representatives on the All-Region team, in what has become the premier Division II baseball conference in the southeast.
Erskine begins its 2024 campaign with a unique opening weekend series against rival Lander University. The Fleet will host the Bearcats in their season opener on Thursday at 2 p.m. before finishing the series at Lander on Friday and Saturday.
