MCCORMICK, S.C. – The Fleet Women's Golf Team began their fall 2022 season with a 13th-place finish in the Savannah Lakes Invitational on Tuesday afternoon. Freshman Emma Hunt led the Fleet with a top-40 finish individually in the two-day event with 17 teams and 95 individuals.
SAVANNAH LAKES INVITATIONAL
- The 36-hole event, hosted by Monticello Golf Course in McCormick, S.C. is a two-day tournament.
- The course played to a par of 72.
- The field consists of 16 teams along with 10 individuals, for a total of 95 participants.

Belmont Abbey College (309-311=620 - 11th)
King University (334-330=664Â - 15th)
Emileigh Swords (Southern Wesleyan): (81-80=161 - t-62nd)
THE FIELD
The hosts, Lander University, claimed the title with a 28-over par performance over the 2 rounds, earning them a 6-stroke victory over Columbus State and Limestone. Sakurako Tanaka and Kajsa Lindqvist led Lander as they finished tied for 4th individually for the Bearcats with 2-over 146 (74-72) scorecards. Wingate's Jess Brown won the individual portion of the tournament with an even 144 (74-70) as she helped the Bulldogs to a joint 7th-place finish.

The Fleet continue their fall season next week in the King Invitational next Monday and Tuesday in Bristol, Tenn.
