Box Score DUE WEST, S.C. – The Erskine College women's basketball team (0-14, 0-12 CC) battled Conference Carolinas opponent Chowan University at home in Belk Arena on Saturday. The Fleet fell into a hole early, allowing Chowan to grab a double digit lead headed into the half. Despite this deficit, and after allowing the visiting squad to expand the lead to more than 20 in the 3rd Quarter, the Fleet led a mighty comeback and pushed the game to within 5 points behind some strong play from
Carmen Chandler on the boards and
Anzya Cook on the offensive end. Erskine, although they played hard, were not able to finish the comeback, eventually falling 43-48.
THE PLAYER
Anzya Cook led the Fleet with 17 points on 7-12 shooting and 3-7 from beyond the arc.
Carmen Chandler also added a season high, 16 rebounds to the Fleet effort.
THE TEAM
Erskine shot 16-49 (32.7%) from the floor and was 7-30 (23.3%) from beyond the arc. The Fleet shot 4-12 (33.3%) from the foul line in the game.
