DUE WEST, S.C. – The Erskine College women's basketball team (2-20, 1-15 CC) was defeated by Converse University (4-19, 3-12 CC) in overtime by a score of 84-81 on Senior Day at Belk Arena on Saturday afternoon.
The Fleet honored its four seniors (
Alexis Burce,
Arin Moore,
Suniyah Rollins, and
Albany Wilson) after the game and pushed the Valkyries to the brink on Saturday. Erskine led by eight at the half and had its chances at the end of regulation for a Senior Day win but the Valkyries' offense came to life in the extra period.

Erskine shot 36% (29-80) from the field and 35% (10-29) from the three-point line, but was just 62% (13-21) from the free throw line. The Fleet played excellent perimeter defense on Converse, holding the visitors to just 2-for-27 shooting from three-point territory, but Erskine sent the Valkyries to the free throw line 29 times, where the visitors had an 11-point advantage.

Erskine visits Belmont Abbey College (17-6, 12-4 CC), the reigning Conference Carolinas Tournament champions, on Monday at 5 p.m., in a rescheduled game from earlier this month.
