History was made inside Belk Arena this afternoon when the Flying Fleet Acrobatics and Tumbling team hosted Converse in the first meet in program history.
The Fleet competed in five events, each event hosting multiple heats. The first event, called the compulsory, went to the Valkyries with a score of 38.05-22.0. The acro portion followed, improving the Valkyries overall lead to 66.35-40.85. The Fleet scored a team high of 23.85 points in the Pyramid event, however still trailed behind strong performances from Converse. The Toss event proved to be much closer between the two teams, with the Fleet coming within 6 points. Valkyries posted a 26.4 for the toss, while Erskine trailed right behind with a 20.70. The tumbling portion, the final event for the Fleet, boosted the Valkyries lead to 176.025-123.275.
Fleet Acro Tumbling will be on the road for the program's second meet on Saturday, February 28th as they head to Belmont Abbey.
