COLUMBIA, SC- Erskine men's basketball players
Michael Byrd and
Aaron Brown were honored Wednesday afternoon at the South Carolina State Legislature as part of National Student-Athlete Day hosted by the University of South Carolina. Two student-athletes were selected from each South Carolina four-year institution to be honored based on academic excellence and service to school/community, along with playing their sport.
Michael Byrd is a junior Biolgy major from Charleston, SC. Byrd has maintained a 4.0 GPA while serving as a student life assistant and president of the Erskine student body.
Aaron Brown is a junior Athletic Training major from Mt. Pleasant, SC. Brown also has achieved a 4.0 GPA along with serving as a student life assistant and is president of the Erskine Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA).
"Michael and Aaron are truly deserving of being honored on National Student-Athlete Day. They are the epitome of hard work and dedication in all apects of their lives. They are both tremendous leaders with impeccable character and strong faith. They are wonderful ambassadors of Erskine as they role model what the true student-athlete should be," remarked Erskine Vice-President of Athletics
