Early it appeared that the Trojans would have the upper hand in Saturday's match against the Flying Fleet after an 0-2 deficit, the Fleet came storming back to capture a 5-set win (20-25, 20-25, 25-19, 25-11, 15-9).
Mount Olive's serve and pass game dismantled Erskine in the early goings of the match. Freshman setter, Alex Brandstetter, came in for the Fleet in the 3rd set providing some much needed relief and a new look for the Fleet offense. His decision making paved the way for him to dish out 34 assists in only 3 out of the 5 sets of playing time.Â
There were several players for Erskine that contributed greatly to teams comeback. Roberto Perez and Michael Michelau had another impressive match, leading the Fleet offense with 22 and 16 kills respectively. Michelau also added 4 aces, 5 blocks and 8 digs. Neal Stanley added 11 kills and 6 digs while Nathan Camnitz had 7 kills. Freshman, Keegan Sullivan, came in late and stepped up with key serving runs including 1 ace and got 2 kills at crucial times to allow the Fleet to maintain momentum.  Anchoring the team defense for the Fleet, senior, Michael Schneck, had a team high of 15 digs.
The Fleet will return to action at home, Thursday, March 31st at 7pm against Emmanuel. Â
