Box Score Spartanburg, S.C. – The Erskine Flying Fleet (1-6, 1-3) lost to in-state conference foe Converse College Valkyries (4-3, 2-1) 16 to 4 this afternoon in women's lacrosse action at Hayden Abney Fulp Stadium.
With the score tied 2 to 2, Converse scored the first half's last eight goals to take a commanding 10 to 2 lead into the locker room at halftime. Converse's Laura Starkes scored two goals and assisted on another to lead the charge. For the Fleet,
Annabelle Clinton and
Mackenzie Brown (Brentwood, TN, Brentwood High School) tallied a goal each.
The second half began well for the Fleet as Brown and
Samantha Burns (Hilton Head Island, SC, Hilton Head Island High School) each added a goal. Converse slowed the pace of the game, limiting the Fleet's scoring opportunities. Converse won 16 to 4.
Brown led the Fleet with two goals while Erskine goalkeeper
Konstandena Brown (Wilmington, NC, John T. Hoggard High School) recorded 16 saves on 37 shots.
Starkes finished with a game-high 4 goals and one assist.
Erskine's next game is next week on Tuesday, March 17
th, when the Falcons of Pfeiffer University visit Huggins Filed. Game time is set for 3:00 p.m.
