DUE WEST, S.C. – The Erskine College women's lacrosse team (2-5, 0-4 CC) was defeated by Chowan University (1-9, 1-5 CC) by a score of 20-11 at Huggins Field on Saturday afternoon.
Julia Richey led the Erskine attack with three goals, while
Jenna Varner,
Korenza Heath, and
Kalea Hamilton scored twice, and
Anna Ferrebee and
Kristie Fisher added goals for the Fleet.
THE PLAYER
Julia Richey scored a team-leading three goals, the most in her career. She also added three ground balls and three draw controls.
THE TEAM
Erskine was outshot by the Hawks 33 to 30, but the Fleet were phenomenal on draw controls, tallying 24 of them to Chowan's 11.
WHAT'S NEXT
Erskine continues conference play on the road at Barton College (6-5, 3-1 CC) on Tuesday at 3 p.m. in a rescheduled match from earlier this season.
