Penn State snaps Erskine's win streak

Box Score University Park, Pa. – The Erskine Flying Fleet (7-2) lost 3 to 0 (17-25, 14-25, 19-25) to the Nittany Lions of Penn State University (3-6) in non-conference men's volleyball action at Rec Hall in the South Gym.

The loss snapped the Fleet's seven game winning streak.

The Fleet struggled with the height of the opposition as Penn State had 11 blocks, limiting the Fleet to a season-low .118 hitting percentage.   Conversely, PSU used their height to hit for .500 on the evening. 

Sophomore Roberto Perez (Dorado, P.R., Bayamon Military Academy) had 9 kills to lead the Fleet while juniorOmar Melendez (San Juan, P.R., Colegio San Ignalio de Loyola) knocked down 8 kills.

PSU was led by Aaron Russell and Chris Nugent, both finished with 12 kills.

Erskine returns home to host conference opponent Pfeiffer University on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
