Lees-McRae beats Erskine 21-12

Box Score Due West, S.C. – The Lees-McRae College Bobcats (1-2, 1-0) broke the game open, scoring five straight first half goals in route to a 21 to 12 victory over the Erskine Flying Fleet (1-4, 1-1) this morning in Conference Carolinas women's lacrosse action at Huggins Field.
 
With ten minutes remaining in the first half, the Bobcats scored five straight goals, giving the Bobcats a 10 to 4 lead the Fleet could not overcome.  The Bobcats' Taylor Drake scored three of the five goals.  The Bobcats led 11 to 6 at intermission.
 
In the second half, Erskine mounted a run, scoring four consecutive goals.  Samantha Burns (Hilton Head Island, SC, Hilton Head Island High School) tallied three of the four goals.  Burns led the Fleet with 6 goals on the day.
 
The Fleet played a player down the last ten minutes of the game due to an injury.  Lees-McRae scored six goals during this time.
 
The Bobcats were led by Peyton LeCompte's six goals.
 
Erskine steps out of conference play to host West Virginia Wesleyan University next Saturday starting at 2:00 p.m.
