Box Score Due West, S.C. – The University of Mount Olive Trojans (4-0, 2-0) overwhelmed the Erskine Flying Fleet (1-2, 1-1) 18 to 3 this afternoon in Conference Carolinas women's lacrosse action at Huggins Field.
Mount Olive scored the game's first nine goals, including eight in the first nine minutes of play. Freshman
Alanna Carvallo (Nashville, TN, Father Ryan High School) put the Fleet on the board with 7:23 remaining. The Trojans tacked on three more goals to take a 12 to 1 lead at halftime.
The Trojans slowed the pace in the second half but still outshot the Fleet 17 to 7. The Trojans scored six goals in the second half.
The Fleet tallied two second half goals. Freshman
Mackenzie Brown (Brentwood, TN, Brentwood High School) scored both goals. She beat her defender to score her first goal then added another goal less than two minutes later on a free position shot.
Erskine goalkeeper
Konstandena Brown (Wilmington, NC, John T. Hoggard High School) made several spectacular saves on the day, recording 14 saves overall.
Erskine will host Shorter next Saturday starting at 11:00 a.m.
