Box Score Bristol, Tenn. – Freshman Ray Lock's game-high 23 points was not enough as the Erskine Flying Fleet (9-16, 5-12) fell to #7 regionally ranked Tornado of King University (19-5, 13-3) 88 to 50 tonight in Conference Carolinas men's basketball action at the Student Center Complex.
After trading buckets, King University scored eight unanswered runs to take the lead for good. After a layup by Mack Owen, teammate C.J. Good hit back-to-back three-point shots to finish the Tornado run.
By halftime, King led 52 to 20 after shooting a sizzling 64.5% in the half, including 58.8% from 3-point range.
Lock (Aiken, SC, Oak Hill Academy) went 10 of 18 from the floor, including 2 for 6 from beyond the arc. He also pulled down 9 rebounds to lead the Fleet on the night.
For the Tornado, Hunter LeVeau came off the bench to go 7 of 9 from the floor, scoring a team-high 20 points. Logan Lyle contributed 17 points while Calvin Walker, who did not score, handed out 8 assists.
Erskine has a short break in their schedule. The Fleet return to the hardwood next Wednesday against the Barton Bulldogs. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
