Box Score Due West, S.C. – The Erskine Flying Fleet (4-8, 2-5) lost 72 to 49 to #5 regionally ranked King University Tornado (11-2, 6-0) tonight in Conference Carolinas men's basketball action at Belk Arena.

Despite a strong defensive effort, the Flying Fleet suffered through a seven minute scoring drought that King used to build a double-digit lead.  Sophomore Maurice Daniels, Jr. (Spartanburg, SC, Dorman High School) ended the Fleet futility, converting on two free throws with just under ten minutes left in the opening period.  At halftime, King led 40 to 17 as C.J. Good nailed a last-second three point shot from the corner.  Good finished with 15 points on the night.

In the second half, freshman Thomas Cameron (Atlanta, GA, Norcross High School) brought the home crowd to their feet with a powerful dunk off the base lane then rejected a fast break layup attempt.  The Fleet played even with the fifth ranked King as both teams scored 32 points in the second half.

Sophomore Fineto Lungwana (Roswell, GA, Centennial High School) led the Flying Fleet with 12 points while sophomore Aaron Brown (Mt. Pleasant, SC, Wando High School) came off the bench to score 10 points.  Cameron pulled down a team-high 6 rebounds in thirteen minutes of playing time.

King University's Logan Lyle went 6 of 11 from the floor, including 5 of 9 from 3-point range, to lead all scorers with 22 points.  Lyle also hauled in a game-high 9 rebounds while handing out 3 assists.

Erskine will look to snap their three game losing skid this Saturday against Limestone College.  Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.
