Box Score Due West, S.C. – Junior Arvel Atwater, Jr. (Capitol Heights, MD, Suitland High School) went a perfect 5 for 5 from 3-point range to power the Erskine Flying Fleet (9-11, 5-8) over the visiting Warriors of Southern Wesleyan University (3-16, 3-9) 74 to 53 tonight in Conference Carolinas men's basketball action at Belk Arena.
 
Atwater scored the game's first points with a three-point basket then made two more to send the Fleet to an early 11 to 7 lead in the opening minutes of the game.  Erskine never trailed in the game and built their lead to sixteen by intermission at 38 to 22.
 
In the second half, Erskine maintained their double-digit lead as ten Erskine players scored in the period.  Senior DeShaun Hall (Inman, SC, Landrum High School) paced the Fleet in the second half with seven of his fifteen points.
 
Atwater and Hall led the Fleet with 15 points while freshman Ray Lock (Aiken, SC, Oak Hill Academy) and sophomore Brandon Wilkerson (Summerville, SC, Summerville High School) scored 13 and 12 points respectively.
 
The Warriors' Kenny Holmes led all-scorers with 17 points and Darius Sharpe contributed 11 points.
 
Erskine hosts #17 ranked University of Mount Olive (19-2, 12-1) this Saturday in the Red Myers Classic.  Game time is set for 4:00 p.m.
