Box Score Due West, S.C. – The Erskine Flying Fleet (6-7, 0-4) lost to #9 Pfeiffer University 15 to 3 this afternoon in Conference Carolinas women's lacrosse action at Lefko Field.
Erskine contained the potent Pfeiffer attack until the last fifteen minutes of the game. Erskine held Pfeiffer to just four goals in the first half, trailing only 4 to 1. Erskine's
Ali Cole (Duluth, GA, Duluth High School) tallied the Fleet's lone first half goal on a free position attempt.
In the second half, the two teams exchanged goals in the first two minutes until Pfeiffer exploded for ten goals in the game's final fifteen minutes. Pfeiffer's Kristi Corn scored the half's first goal off a pass from Ashleigh Kassab. Erskine's Cole responded quickly keeping the Flying Fleet within three.
With a little over sixteen minutes remaining, Pfeiffer scored seven unanswered goals until Erskine's
Kelly Dalziel (Ocean, NJ, Ocean Township High School) tallied the Fleet's third goal. Pfeiffer added three more goals by the game's conclusion.
Erskine goalkeeper Konstandena Brown played a great game, yielding 15 shots while recording 16 saves on 41 shots.
Erskine plays their last three games of their season next week. Erskine hosts conference foe Lees-McRae on Monday starting at 4:00 p.m.
