Box Score Due West, S.C. – The Erskine Flying Fleet recorded their first ever shutout, routing the Tornados of Brevard College 19 to 0 this afternoon in non-conference women's lacrosse action at Huggins Field. It is also the largest margin of victory by the Flying Fleet in the program's six year history.
Erskine scored seven goals in the game's first ten minutes. Junior
Samantha Burns (Hilton Head Island, SC, Hilton Head Island High School) led the initial charge scoring three goals while senior
Kelly Dalziel (Ocean, NJ, Ocean Township High School) added two more.
By halftime, Erskine led 15 to 0 invoking the mercy rule of continuous clock.
In the second half, Erskine was content to slow down play and let the clock run, scoring only four goals in the closing period.
Burns led the Flying Fleet with a game-high 5 goals while freshman
Ali Cole (Duluth, GA, Duluth High School) contributed 3 goals along with two assists. Freshman Alexandria Butler scored two goals and had a game-high 3 assists. Eight Erskine players scored a goal in the game.

Paige Elder (Greenville, SC, J.L. Mann High School) was the goalkeeper of record in earning the Fleet's first shutout. She faced three shots, making saves on two.
