Box Score Misenheimer, N.C. – Conference-leading Erskine Flying Fleet (13-5, 10-1) took a major step toward securing their first-ever conference regular season championship by downing the Pfeiffer University Falcons (8-9, 5-3) 3 to 1 tonight in men's volleyball action at Merner Gym.
With the win, Erskine now holds a two-game lead over both the University of Mount Olive and Pfeiffer University with four conference game remaining in the season. The Flying Fleet have also won their last nine games in a row.
After losing the first game 25 to 21, Erskine rebounded to win the next three sets 25-19, 25-22, and 25-20.

Roberto Perez Vargas (Dorado, P.R., Bayamon Military Academy) crushed a career-high 20 kills while teammate
Omar Melendez (San Juan, P.R., Colegio San Ignalio) knocked down 10 kills on just 13 attempts to lead the Fleet to the victory. Both players also had 2 blocks each. Setter
Corey Marks (Southwest Ranches, FL, Archbishop Edward McCarthy High School) handed out 49 assists while recording a team-high 6 digs.
Pfeiffer had four players finish with double-digit kills, led by Sonny Hirini's 13 kills and 5 blocks. Fabio Diniz knocked down 11 kills while teammates Michael Brewer and Wyatt Hamilton had 10 kills apiece.
As part of their spring break, Erskine will fly to California to play Hope International University and California Baptist University this weekend.
