Box Score Bristol, Tenn. – Erskine shot a season-low 27% from the floor in a 86 to 49 road loss to the Tornado of King University tonight in Conference Carolinas men's basketball action at the Student Center Complex.
Erskine has now lost their last four games to slip to 11-8 overall and 5-5 in conference.
After senior
Mike Gabbard (Erlanger, KY, Boone County High School) hit a 3-pointer for the game's first basket, the Flying Fleet misfired on their next 11 shots and trailed 13 to 3. Senior
Jake Haslam (Lithia, FL, Tampa Preparatory School) broke the Fleet's scoreless drought with a 3-point basket. At halftime, Erskine trailed 31 to 19 on 7 of 34 shooting from the field.
Erskine did not find their shooting touch at intermission, going a woeful 9 of 25 from the floor, to finish 16 of 59 for the game.
Gabbard was the only Fleet player to reach double-figures, scoring 12 points. Senior
Chris Gore (Myrtle Beach, SC, Myrtle Beach High School) continued to dominate the boards, grabbing a game-high 11 rebounds on the night.
King University had five players finish in double-digits, led by Hunter LeVeau and C.J. Good's 14 points each.
Erskine returns home this Saturday to host the Bobcats of Lees-McRae. Tip-off is set for 4:00 p.m.
