Box Score Due West, S.C. – The Erskine Flying Fleet (15-11, 9-9) ended their regular season with a 70 to 56 win over the visiting Falcons of Pfeiffer University (6-20, 3-13) tonight in Conference Carolinas men's basketball action at Belk Arena.
Erskine held Pfeiffer to just three points through the first nine minutes of play and lead by thirteen by intermission at 36 to 22.
Erskine extended their lead to as many as 23 in the second half. By the end of the game, Head Coach Mark Peeler had played all thirteen healthy players with ten players contributing a basket in the victory.
Sophomore
Roderick Perkins (Smyrna, GA, Campbell High School), who surpassed the 1,000 career point milestone last game, led all-scorers with 22 points. Senior
Adison Lawrence (Greer, SC, Eastside High School) was the only other Fleet player to reach double-digits, finishing with 10 points. Senior post player
Chris Gore (Myrtle Beach, SC, Myrtle Beach High School) added thirteen more rebounds to his career total, marking the seventeenth time this season he has grabbed 10 or more rebounds in a game.
The Falcons had two players finish in double-digits. Andrew Guerrero and A.J. Clark scored 15 and 14 points respectively while Silvere Aluko rejected an impressive 7 shots on the night.
Erskine earns the #5 seed in the upcoming Conference Carolinas Basketball Championship Powered by OrthoCarolina. Erskine will travel to Gaffney, South Carolina, on Saturday to play the Saints of Limestone College. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.
