Erskine rolls past Emmanuel 3-0

Box Score Due West, S.C. – The Erskine Flying Fleet (7-5) rolled past the Lions of Emmanuel College (4-6) 3 to 0 (25-22, 25-19, 25-16) tonight in non-conference men's volleyball action at Belk Arena.

The only close set on the night was in the first set.  After a Fleet attack error gave the Lions a two point advantage at 19 to 21, Erskine rattled off five straight points to regain the lead.  After surrendering a point to Emmanuel, Mike Michelau (Trevor, WI, Westosha Central High School) knocked down the game point.

With the momentum firmly in hand, Erskine sprinted out to huge leads into the other two sets, winning 25 to 19 and 25 to 16.
Michelau led the Fleet offensively with 16 kills.  Setter Corey Marks (Southwest Ranches, FL, Archbishop Edward McCarthy High School) handed out 25 assists while tallying four kills of his own.  Libero Michael Schneck (Milwaukee, WI, Marquette University High School) had a nice game since returning from an illness with 12 digs.

The Lions were led by Ryck Webb's game-high 18 points, 7 digs and 3 blocks.

Erskine has now won three games in a row and four of their last five.

Erskine hosts conference foe King University this Friday starting at 5 p.m.
