Box Score Mount Olive, N.C. – The Erskine Flying Fleet (2-1, 0-1) suffered their first setback of the season, losing 20 to 8 to the University of Mount Olive Trojans (3-0, 1-0) this afternoon in Conference Carolinas women's lacrosse action at Amon Field.
With the game knotted at 2 apiece, UMO outscored Erskine 10 to 2 to take a 12 to 4 lead at intermission.
In the second half, UMO used a 7-0 run to secure the win. Erskine scored two goals late to reach the final score of 20 to 8.
Erskine was led by junior
Samantha Burns (Hilton Head Island, SC, Hilton Head Island High School), who had 3 goals and an assist.
The Trojans were led by Katie McGovern's 5 goals and 2 assists.
After playing their first three games on the road, Erskine play at home for the first time this season on Wednesday against national powerhouse Limestone College. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m.
