Box Score Gaffney, S.C. – Erskine exploded for 46 kills in a 3-0 win over in-state rival Limestone College in Conference Carolinas men's volleyball action at the Timkin Center.
The Flying Fleet (5-5, 5-1) had little difficulty with the Saints (8-5, 4-4) winning the three sets 25-15, 25-22, and 25-20.
Setter
Corey Marks (Southwest Ranches, FL, Archbishop Edward McCarthy High School) directed a very efficient attack; handing out 32 assists that resulted in a .381 hitting percentage for the match. Marks also had a team-high .857 hitting percentage, knocking down six kills on seven attempts.
Sophomore
Mike Michelau (Trevor, WI, Westosha Central High School) and freshman
Roberto Perez Vargas (Dorado, P.R., Bayamon Military Academy) combined for 26 kills, 14 and 12 kills respectively.
Defensively Erskine stymied the Limestone attack, holding them to a .147 hitting percentage, and just 7.3 kills per set. Jon Schaefer led the Saints with 9 kills.
Erskine steps out of conference play for their next contest hosting Warner University this Thursday. First serve is set for 7:00 p.m.
