Erskine falls to Barton in overtime 68 to 65

Box Score Due West, S.C. – The Erskine Flying Fleet fell in overtime to the Barton College Bulldogs 68 to 65 tonight in Conference Carolinas men's basketball action at Belk Arena.

Barton quickly erased Erskine's five point halftime lead to open the second half.  Barton's Chris Flemming made two jump shots, including a 3-pointer and Khari Faison scored the other basket.

The lead would change hands seven more times before ending in a 59 to 59 tie on a tip-in by Barton's Ryan Canoy.
Barton scored the first two baskets in overtime and hung on to win 68 to 65.

Senior Chris Gore (Myrtle Beach, SC, Myrtle Beach High School) had a career night, earning a double-double, with a career-high 24 rebounds and 10 points.  Sophomore Roderick Perkins (Smyrna, GA, Campbell High School) led the Fleet in scoring with a game-high 21 points.  Jake Haslam (Lithia, FL, Tampa Preparatory School) went 4 for 10 from long range to finish with 12 points and freshman Maurice Daniels, Jr. (Spartanburg, SC, Dorman High School) contributed 10 points.

The Bulldogs were led by Flemming's double-double of 19 points and 11 rebounds and Brian McNair had 15 points.

Erskine will look to snap their two game losing skid this Wednesday against Belmont Abbey.  Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.
